Burnaby Campus Retreat
August 29 - 31, 2008, Vancouver Filipino SDA Church (Burnaby Campus) held a weekend family retreat at the Labros' residence at Cumberland Street in New Westminster. The theme of the weekend was "Growing in Christ" with the following objectives:
1. To know how to grow in Christ.
2. To evaluate ourselves if we are growing in Christ.
3. To learn the principles and methods of growing that Christ gave to us.
4. To experience the life that grows till the full maturity in Christ.
5. To share Christ's message of salvation to others.

Sabbath School with Elder Peter
The weekend's activities included sharing of testimonies on Friday evening, group dynamics at Sabbath School with Peter Peralta leading, Sabbath morning divine worship with Theody Malabanan, and angklung practice with Charlie Burce. The AY program was done at the park beside the Fraser River and the sundown worship was led by Ed Flores. Social Night followed with Juliet Alcaide and Susan Pacurib in charge, and finally, more games and swimming on Sunday morning.
Yes, it was really a big blessing to those who participated. Thank you for the kindness of the Labro family with the accommodation and food supplies, especially the "freshly sliced" pizza. But above all, thanks be to God who guides us to remain closer to each other and to Him.

Elder Josue Andallo Preaches at Vancouver
The first elder of Abundant Life Community Church, Elder Josue Andallo, was the divine worship speaker on August 30, 2008. His illustration of sheep as restless creatures parallels today's pace of society which is even felt among our church members. Jesus, the Good Shepherd, knows where to lead us, His sheep, and allow us pass the "Bridge Over Troubled Waters."
The girls of the primary and junior classes rendered the beautiful song "Lord, I'm Available to You" during the service.
Once a member of the Vancouver church, Elder Andallo also blessed the church with music together with his family.
